Answer

Please RSVP by January 10th, so we can have an accurate headcount.

Question

What documents do I need to travel to Colombia?

Answer

None of our guests need a visa to enter Colombia (we checked!). You will need: 1 - A valid, non-expired passport. Now is a good time to ensure your passport is not expiring soon. Your passport cannot be within 6 months of expiring when you leave the US. This means, to be safe, your passport needs to be valid through September 2025. 2 - Check Mig Form. Please complete the immigration form within 72 hours of your trip. They may ask you for this confirmation at the airport counter or before boarding flight. Please use this link: apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/pre-registro/en. Remember to fill out the form before leaving Colombia too.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

In Cartagena, the weather is beautifully sunny and hot with windy nights. Please expect temperatures ranging from 75°F to 88°F (24°C to 31°C). Rain is highly unlikely. Keep in mind that Cartagena is humid, so lightweight, breathable fabrics and sunscreen are your allies for a comfortable and sun-kissed celebration.

Question

Is Cartagena safe?

Answer

Cartagena is a safe city that hosts millions of tourists a year. The historic district is particularly secure, but as with any city, we suggest you mind your belongings and stay aware of your surroundings. You can also walk beyond the walled historic center to the artsy neighborhood of Getsemani, but in general we don't recommend walking further. Question

What is the language and currency in Colombia?

Answer

Spanish is the official language of the country. However, given that Cartagena is a tourist city, you will find lots of Colombians do speak English as well. The Colombian Peso is the official currency. The current exchange is at around 1 USD: 3,900 COP. The easiest way to obtain Colombian Pesos (COP) is by exchanging currency at your bank before traveling or using local ATMs once in Colombia. Using credit or debit cards for purchases is another convenient option, as most places accept major international cards. However, it's always a good idea to carry some cash for smaller establishments. Before your trip, check with your bank about any fees associated with international transactions or ATM withdrawals, and consider notifying them of your travel dates to avoid any potential issues with card usage abroad.
