We met almost 10 years ago, as freshmen at Penn State University, where we both worked for the university's humor magazine. In February of our sophomore year, our mutual friend Laura helped set us up on a date. We went to see "Atonement" and both hated it, which gave us the perfect opportunity to bond over our shared love of mocking garbage movies. After college, we did the long-distance thing, making trips back and forth between Boston and New York City every month, spending hours on the phone in-between, and occasionally watching bad movies together over Skype (they’re easier to talk through). Two years and one adopted cat later, we moved in together in Jersey City (we lived there for two whole years and could tell you all about it but frankly…not worth it). In 2014, Jimmy got into Johns Hopkins for grad school, and we happily moved to the greatest city in America (according to our city park benches): Baltimore, MD. We both love spending time in the kitchen, making each other laugh, being giant nerds about comic books, having ridiculously in depth discussions about tv shows, wandering around Baltimore, and still love watching lots of bad (and good!) movies together.

In November 2016, we decided it was time to take the next step in our relationship. Jimmy enlisted the help of our cat, Bones, to pop the question, and even through Rebecca kinda-sorta knew it was coming, it took Jimmy and Bones three different tries over three weeks (interrupted by one devastating election) to actually get her to see the ring on the cat's collar (at one point, Bones literally sat so close that the ring was on her face). Finally, at 11:30 pm on a Wednesday night in the middle of a rant about the hit CW TV show “Arrow,” Rebecca noticed something sparkling...promptly flipped out, and, several shocked expletives later, said "yes." <3
