Aspen sits at an elevation of 8,000 feet. Altitude has a different effect on everyone. We suggest drinking an excessive amount of water, and be aware that alcohol will effect you more strongly at elevation, so easy on the cocktails!
We will drive to Aspen on Friday the 3rd. We are staying at the Hotel Jerome. We will leave Monday morning of the 6th.
Our car will be full of wedding stuff, so we cannot take any passenger with us. We suggest contacting other family members to share a rental car to take up to Aspen.
Maroon Bells is a national park, and it is very rustic, with no indoor space. The ground is dirt and rocks, and often uneven/muddy. There will be bench seating, but the area is not shaded. We will only be at the ceremony location for less than an hour, but if you require shade consider bringing a hat or umbrella. There are bathrooms, but they are extremely rustic, and we suggest using the bathroom ahead of time in hopes you won't have to use them!
We are asking for dressy attire. However, it is summer in Aspen, and it will be a daytime affair, so it need not be super-formal. We will be outside for the morning ceremony, where weather is unpredictable, it could be cool and windy, or hot and sunny, so bring layers. Our accent color for the wedding is orange, so feel free to incorporate a little orange into your attire!
