On October 6, 2018, Jimmy attended the Notre Dame v. Virginia Tech game with a work colleague, and he and his colleague were guests of David Andrews. David shared a suite with a number of Hokies, and he made sure to let Jimmy know not to cheer too loudly for the opposing team. Not wanting to offend his host, he wore a Virginia Tech long sleeve shirt and did his best to keep his shouting for the Fighting Irish to a minimum. On that same day, Elizabeth and her friends were attending the same football game. In fact, they were hanging out at the same tailgate as Jimmy without even knowing it. Once the game was underway, Jimmy was enjoying watching the Irish give Virginia Tech a run for its money. Elizabeth was working two floors below, waiting for the second quarter to begin. A few minutes before half-time, Elizabeth took some special guests to see a few friends in another area of the stadium. She decided to go see her dear friends and favorite Hokies, Jay and Shelly Poole. Jay and Shelly shared a suite with a few other Hokies, including David Andrews. After Elizabeth said hello to everyone, she spotted a beautiful Breitling watch on a very handsome man standing by the bar. Never one to shy away from talking to a stranger, she walked up to him, asked about his watch, and introduced herself. He said his name was Jimmy and they quickly began chatting. After a few minutes, Elizabeth had to return to work. As soon as she walked away from Jimmy, she knew she would have to find a way to see him again. As luck would have it, she made her way back to the Poole's suite. By that time, others in the suite had caught on that something might be brewing between the two. Shelly Poole even suggested they go out on a date! Ever the gentleman, after the game Jimmy decided to walk Elizabeth to her car. She asked him if he was ever going to ask for her number, and so he did. Less than a week later they had their first official date, and the rest, as they say, is history.
