Answer

April 26, 2025

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Pop on over to the travel page where you can find a link to our wedding hotel!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Too many places! But, they are all organized on our website's Registry page.

Question

Where should we bring or send a gift?

Answer

If you would like to honor us with a gift prior to our wedding day, please email laurenandsamrode@gmail.com for our home address. If purchasing through our registries, you can also select to send a gift directly to us during the order process. A wedding card box and gift table will be available at our reception.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

There is no "code" but the bridal party will be dressed in garden party attire if you would like to join in on the theme! Here are a couple recommendations and thought starters: Garden party attire is typically dressy but not too formal, effortless but not too casual. Flowing, floral fabrics are great, pastels and primary colors are a key component. Lighter hues are typically the main feature, but if you prefer darker colors, chocolate brown and navy blue also work well. This is a wedding after all so please refrain from wearing shorts or jeans.

Question

What are your wedding colors?

Answer

Think spring! We will have an array of your favorite pastels complimented by the spring flowers.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The weather is always unpredictable in Minnesota! We will have indoor spaces for both our ceremony and reception. We will also have access to the back lawn for guests to enjoy throughout the evening.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have carefully curated our guest list for our close friends and family. Please refrain from inviting additional guests who were not indicated on your invitation. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

What time should we arrive?

Answer

Our venue doors will open at 3:30pm for guests, we recommend arriving 20-25 minutes prior to the ceremony.

Question

Where is the best place to park?

Answer

If you are planning to drive to the venue, street parking will be the best option. St. Paul College Club is located in a residential area with ample free parking options on the neighboring streets. If you would like to drop any guests off prior to parking, there is also a horseshoe driveaway with access to the front door for drop offs. The front door to the venue does require the use of stairs. If any guests are needing ramp access to enter the venue, there is an accessible entrance on the back side of the building.

Question

Can we take photos?

Answer

We kindly ask our guests to enjoy our ceremony unplugged and with open hearts. Following the ceremony we encourage you to commemorate the evening in as many photos and videos as you see fit!

Question

What happens during cocktail hour?

Answer

Following the ceremony the wedding party and family will be taking photos. The cocktail hour is your time to enjoy drinks and light snacks inside various downstairs rooms of the mansion. You will also be able to enjoy your drinks outside.

Question

What's on the menu?

Answer

You will be able to select your entree during your RSVP. We plan to have hors d'oeuvres available during the cocktail hour followed by the formal dinner. Please indicate any food allergies in the designated space on the RSVP form.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

You heard it here first, the drinks are on us! We will have different beverages offered after the ceremony and throughout the evening with the bar open until 10:30pm. The hangovers are on you so please drink responsibly.

Question

Tell us more about your venue!

Answer

The St. Paul College Club historic mansion dates back as early as 1848 and has been expanded, restored, and cherished throughout the years. Nestled on the infamous Summit Avenue in St. Paul, the venue is a short walk from where Sam's mom and siblings grew up. The Georgian Revival-style home was purchased by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) in 1949 and remains under its ownership to this day. The AAUW is a national organization which supports educational equality and opportunity for women. A portion of the proceeds from every event is donated towards their cause.
