It was a cold foggy evening in October. When two people going to SFSU were getting ready to have a night out in the town with their friends. Little did they know they would meet each other that night, and would never be apart again. Jimena was getting ready with her friends for a fun night. Meanwhile, Ryan was asked by his friend Cory to join him, as Cory was meeting up with his then girlfriend, now wife, Sydney. As fate has it, sometimes things simply line up when you least expect it. As everyone introduced themselves, Ryan met Jimena. He knew he had to make an impression so he asked her to dance. This was the beginning of a great night full of dancing and laughter. As fun as that night was, they didn’t know it was the first of many beautiful memories together.

After 7 years of dating, growing our love and lives’ together, Ryan knew it was time… As March 2022 was approaching, we were preparing to attend Jimena’s sister Lucia’s AMAZING wedding in England. We planned to vacation with friends and family somewhere in Europe after the wedding. This was a perfect time for Ryan to “propose” a trip to Paris. On the morning of March 24 th 2022 Jimena, Ryan and their friend Alyssa planned a morning of photos and breakfast at “THE BEST SPOT” by the Eiffel Tower. It all started at 8am in the morning as we rushed out the door to “beat the crowds for THE BEST SPOT”. Across from the Eiffel Tower we walked down the stairs to a private area by the river. Jimena was getting anxious to find the “cool breakfast spot” that Alyssa was talking about. However, as we walked down the stairs she noticed a woman sitting and taking candid photos of the Tower. After Jimena took a few photos of Alyssa, Alyssa suggested for Ryan and Jimena to take photos while the sun was perfectly behind the Eiffel Tower. Jimena’s suspicions started as Ryan walked over to the photographer and asked if she could take their photo. Once the photographer got us into position, Ryan immediately dropped to his knee, reached to his pocket and said; “Jimena, I have wanted to ask you this for a very long time, Will you marry me.” Jimena, stunned and surprised, immediately started crying and said YES.
