Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

September 6, 2025. If we do not hear from you by this deadline, we will mark you as having declined.

Question

How much of the event is outdoors?

Answer

We are hoping to have the ceremony outdoors. Following the ceremony, guests are welcome to move about the venue (inside and out) for the cocktails and lawn games. The brunch and reception will take place inside the barn. In the event of objectionable weather, we will move the ceremony indoors. If this is necessary, guests will be asked to sit at their brunch table-seating place during the ceremony.

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress is semi-formal/dressy-casual. Please wear what you feel most comfortable wearing. So long as you don't turn up in sweatpants or a wedding dress, we'll be happy to see you. We all know how unpredictable the weather can be in the fall in Alberta! Historically, the weather is the the single digits in the early morning with highs of 15-20 by the afternoon. We recommend dressing in layers! Please note that you will be walking on both gravel and grass, so certain styles of high-heeled shoes are not advised.

Will you be serving alcohol?

Answer

Yes! We will have a cash-only bar. Please note that there is no ATM on site, so please bring cash. If you forget cash, we will have a small amount you can "withdraw" from us. You can send an etransfer to jimandtashk@gmail.com and show proof of etransfer to Celia Lahd, who can provide you cash in the amount you sent.

Can I take photographs during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present. Our professional photographer, Andrea Dr Groot, will be capturing beautiful images and we will share the photos afterwards. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our ceremony distraction-free. After the ceremony is complete, please take as many photos as you would like!

Are children invited?

Answer

No. We have decided to keep this an adult-only event and we hope everyone will relax and enjoy the day with us. We hope you understand our decision and can arrange childcare for the day.

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

We do not! We are very lucky to have a house is full of all the things that we need to live our lives together. Should you wish to honour us with a gift, contributions towards our honeymoon and/or home-improvement projects would be sincerely appreciated.

How do I know where to sit?

Answer

During the ceremony, some seats will be marked as reserved (in the first two rows). We will tell you if you have a reserved seat. Aside from that, sit wherever you like! During the reception, there will be a list of guests with their corresponding table number.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

We recommend driving your own vehicle or taking our shuttle service. Please see the "Travel" page on our website for details.

Question

Can I bring a guest or a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, we simply cannot afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. We ask that you please limit attendance to those specifically named on the invitation. Thank you for understanding!

Who can I contact with questions?

Answer

In advance of the wedding, Tash will have the best answer to all of your questions. Feel free to reach her by email at jimandtashk@gmail.com, text 780-999-0134, or any of the other apps you already use to connect with her. Within 24h of the ceremony, Tash may be too anxious to respond, so please direct all questions to her before this point in time.
