Great Question. Beth has a picture of the ocean in her house, and at some point during their courtship Jim inquired as to where that picture was taken. She replied that it was taken in Cape Cod where her family has a summer home. Jim, being the witty fellow (in his mind) that he is, remarked "Cape Cod!! That place is LOUSY with sharks". Beth immediately disagreed, and they followed those observations with a discussion on where the movie JAWS was supposedly set, and the places frequented by great whites. As it turns out both Jim and Beth were both right! Beth was correct in saying that Cotuit, MA (the town of her family home) is what she was referring to as "Cape Cod", and is not in fact infested with sharks (yet). Jim was also correct, since as we can all see that Chatham has a fair amount of shark activity in its vicinity. The irony is not lost on us that years later we ended up chewsing the summer home of the Great White Shark as our wedding venue.
