Our Story

It was by chance that we first met each other. Mutual friends were meeting each other out, and we ended up talking the whole night. I remember the morning after texting my friend saying I think I might be dating this guy after how much we got along and talked. However, Jim did not ask for my number when we first met. A couple of months passed, and we were reunited at a mutual friend's birthday party. For the first part of the evening, we were both working up the courage to talk to one another. After that night, Jim did ask for my phone number and we went on our first official date the Wednesday before Thanksgiving 2017. After our first date, we began seeing each other quite often, but we hadn't officially said we were boyfriend and girlfriend. In fact, it wasn't until New Year's Eve when I saw Jim text his sister-in-law that he was "spending NYE at his girlfriend's". I asked Jim, "Am I your girlfriend?" and that was that! We were officially in a relationship. After that, months passed and we began to do everything together. During the 2018 holidays we were able to visit both our families and learn more about each and one another's family. Now I honestly can't think of day without him in my life.

Our Engagement

Blazing Trails in Asheville 4/20/19

We had been planning to go to Ashville, NC for a while, we both wanted some time a way from work and to explore a new area together. Having just bought the ring, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to ask the woman that I love to explore and experience the adventure of life with me. I researched some hiking areas around the town with good views and planned to propose to her on the hike. The hike started out perfect. I was nervous as heck, but everything about it was just as I pictured it in my head... until we reached an unexpected scenic water fall that appeared over the trail due to the torrential rains from the night before. There was no way around it and it seemed easy enough to scale across. We watched as the couple ahead of us crossed up and over it like damn mountain goats without getting wet or faltering. Unfortunately, in my infinite wisdom, I decide that we would take a different path over the waterfall and climb up the sheer side of the mountain. Right after I started my climb up, I slipped and started to slide down the mountain. Thankfully, my future wife was there to stop my fall and show me the right way to go. We were now across the waterfall, and a little wet and muddy, and at a nice overlook, I knew it was the right moment. I got down on one knee and asked the most amazing woman I know to marry me. As she was there to catch me as I slid down a mountain and to show me the right way across the waterfall, I promised to always be there for her and support her in her times of need.

For all the days along the way
