Side A: Jillian Well, it all started senior year where we met at Iona College. Some beg to differ on the first encounter, but that's neither here nor there. It wasn't until our senior trip to the Bahamas where I officially got to know John's humor, personality and unescapable charm that he roped me in! When I got back home I was 'reminded' of the ridiculous connection our family and friends have had since before we were both born. After an amazing day at the Pearly River St Patrick's Day parade we instantly became inseparable. Four days later we starting going steady after our first 'official' date. Some say that's too soon, but I say; well whose wedding website are you reading right now eight years later ;) ? I am just so lucky that John decided to transfer his junior year! Side B: John Six months before venturing off to Iona College while at our weekly family cookout, a close family friend visiting from down state confidently stated that I would meet a pretty girl named Jillian Derfuss and that I would inevitably date her. To no ones surprised, I smirked, shrugged it off and made my way over to the Wise chips and Heluva Good French onion dip... because that's what we did. Lo and behold, six months later I first spotted Jillian running like Seabiscut, red shorts included, around the Iona campus thinking... "Wow, she is a pretty girl" completely oblivious to who I was now watching run at a pace which typically belongs to few Triple Crown winners. From that day on, to my roommates Jillian became simply known as..."the girl in the red shorts". I was incredible creative as a freshman. A few years went by, a spot on the varsity basketball team completely ignored, many parties attended together, and then I finally met Jillian on our senior year in the Bahamas. When we first talked, Jillian so innocently asked me, with a tilted glance, what school I transferred from... soul crushing. But from that point on, it was all love. And yes, those were horse puns.
Just ask Jillian in person, the story never gets old and she's never tired of telling it :) Or you can check out the 1000 pictures on Facebook... you'll get the idea.
