We met on Bumble. If you are not familiar with it, Bumble is where both parties swipe that they are interested in one another. Then it is up to the girl to contact first. So yes, Kathryn made the first move. It turns out neither were psycho killers. Michael planned a group date for our 3rd date. He had tickets to the Blue Jackets. He was going to bring a single friend and Kathryn brought her friend Marian. His friend bailed on him at the last moment. So, there he was attempting to entertain Marian and Kathryn. After the game he drove the ladies back to Kathryn's. Once he pulled up to her place Marian said, “I am going to get out and be up on the porch, Michael do what you need to do.” And that’s the story of their first kiss. We realized we had a lot of mutual friends, probably met at a party back in 2003 and had multiple other serendipitous moments. We realized our deep connection pretty early on in the relationship. We both knew probably within the first few months we were on the path to marriage. What is beautiful has been our families support all around….well for the most part. Her nephew Luke(age 9) gave Michael a talking to. Over the Memorial Day Weekend Luke asked Michael to have a "talk" with him either in the garage or on the deck away from everyone at Kathryn's parents' house. So, in the garage is where the conversation went a little like this: So, you love my Aunt? Yes. You promise to always be nice to her, her last boyfriend wasn't nice. Yes, I will. You going to propose to her? Yes. Do you have a ring? (Shows photo of it on phone) Ok yeah looks nice, ok then, good. After Michael proposed on 7/10 Luke walked up to Michael and said, “well I think you really knocked her socks off with the proposal.” Our commonalities include not only our sense of humor, our devotion to our families, love of our friends and our sentimentality and much more. So, in some parts of our big day, you will see and experience just that, but our overall theme is fun, love and we are honored to be able to share the day with you.
