We grew up in the same town, our paths crossing from a distance in high school—but it wasn’t until years later, when our friend groups came together, that we truly met. What started as friendship quickly became something neither of us expected, but both of us needed. In some of life’s hardest moments, we found each other. Through illness, uncertainty, and seasons that asked more of us than we thought we could give, we showed up—again and again. Before we were ever officially together, we were already choosing each other. What began as support and friendship quietly became something deeper, something steady, something lasting. From the beginning, there was an undeniable connection. Long conversations that felt easy, laughter that came naturally, and a shared understanding that reached all the way back to childhood. It didn’t take long to realize this was something rare. Somewhere between a romantic first date where we closed down the restaurant, and an accidental “I love you” said in passing, our story unfolded into something neither of us could ignore. Together, we’ve faced more than most—but through it all, our love has only grown stronger. We’ve learned that home isn’t a place, but a person. Whether we’re curled up at home, laughing over nothing, or out chasing new adventures, we’ve built a life rooted in love, resilience, and a whole lot of goofiness. One of our favorite memories is camping along the shores of Lake Michigan—just the two of us, surrounded by nature, feeling small in the best way, and completely at peace. When the time came to take the next step, it felt only natural. On a quiet evening at North Shore, with the sun setting and Django by our side, he asked the question that had been building all along. It was simple, meaningful, and perfectly us—followed by a beautiful picnic shared with family. Through every high and low, every challenge and joy, one thing has remained constant: we have always chosen each other. And now, we can’t wait to begin this next chapter—together.
