How we MATCHED

Online- you betcha!

Our story is simple and sweet and pretty conventional for the year 2013. Ryan was residing in his hometown, Westbrook Connecticut and Jill (newly graduated) was trying to figure out what to do next. Of course the easy answer was to mooch off her sister and her husband for a bit. Just kidding, Alex and Ben invited Jill to move in with them in Branford, Connecticut to get a new start. After making the decision to move to Connecticut in February of 2013, Jill decided to make a match.com profile for sh*ts and giggles. Unbeknownst to her, there was a gentleman named Ryan who had also made a match profile because he was looking for the real deal. Jill is a cheapo and chose not to pay for the match.com profile, rendering them unable to talk. Ryan, being stealthy ( and maybe slightly stalkerish) found Jill on Facebook and proceeded to talk through the month of January. Jill finally made it out to Connecticut in February while there was a giant snowstorm going on. On the 2nd day that Jill was there, she met the man she had been talking to via Facebook/ Phone for the last month and it was love at first sight (really though). It might not be the most romantic or funny story, but it's our story and in 2013 land, match.com was the way of love. We now currently reside in Hilliard, Ohio in a home we bought in 2017 with our awesome dog, Indy!

Our California Proposal

A trip for the books

Ryan and Jill decided to take a vacation out to California in early 2018. Jill had never been, but Ryan had a few times before. They planned on going to Los Angeles and San Diego. Everyone was suspicious that this would be the trip that Ryan proposed since it had been "SOOOOOO LONG", Jill denied it thinking that Ryan would never be brave enough to carry a ring through security and on a plane, plus they weren't in any hurry. They spent the first few days exploring LA- going to in & Out, Beverly Hills, Muscle Beach, The Hollywood Sign and the Santa Monica Pier. On March 8, they were planning on watching the sunset at the beach with a few beers and then going to dinner at a famous restaurant(SUR) from one of Jill's favorite tv shows, Vanderpump Rules. Little did Jill know, Ryan had a trick up his sleeve. Whilst it felt like they took hours to get ready and actually get to the beach where they were watching said sunset, they finally made it just in time. They plopped a blanket on the sand and opened beers and took a seat. They started taking some pictures and Ryan asked Jill to go stand closer to the ocean so they could get a together shot. Noone was around, so he had to set up a timer. He took 30 years to actually come down to where Jill was standing, and just as they were about to snap a picture Ryan , and I quote, said "Hey why is that plane flying so low" forcing Jill to turn and look, and when Jill turned back around - there Ryan was on one knee! Needless to say, it was a perfect sunset proposal on Manhattan Beach. Afterward, they got to go to two of Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants (Pump & Sur) and had an awesome night! We spent the rest of our trip exploring San Diego. Definitely a trip for the books.
