Our Save The Date Video
We met at work at The Bridges in Rancho Santa Fe—though Parker noticed Jillian long before she ever noticed him. For about six months, Jillian would walk past the valet stand on her daily walks with her friend Josh. Josh and Parker would chat about sports bets while Jillian stood by, blissfully unaware that the cute valet had a major crush on her. Determined to get on Jillian’s radar, Parker volunteered at the annual Disney-themed Halloween event and dragged his friend Luis along as his wingman. Josh assigned them the roles of Gaston and Aladdin, and Parker hoped the extra face time might finally get Jillian to notice him. But in true Jillian fashion… she didn’t. Then came the employee Christmas party. Parker showed up in his best outfit, ready for his moment. When Jillian walked by, he turned to his friends Josh N. and Annie and said, “I really hope I get the chance to take her on a date, because if I do, I know I’m going to be with her for a really long time.” Not long after, Jillian invited Parker to a New Year’s Eve party. She had a plan involving a superstition she loved: if you eat 12 grapes under a table during the 12 strokes of midnight, you’ll find the person you’re meant to marry that year. Parker—sweet, thoughtful, and slightly amused—joined her without hesitation. As the clock struck twelve, they raced through their grapes, laughed, and shared a kiss at midnight. From then on, everything fell into place. On their first official date, Parker arrived with the most beautiful bouquet Jillian had ever seen and took her to a magical light-up fairy garden. Without knowing anything about Jillian’s favorite things yet, he somehow planned her dream date perfectly. As the months passed, the two grew closer, learning each other’s hearts. A few months into dating, they went to a Chris Stapleton concert. During the song “I Think I’m In Love With You,” they said “I love you” for the first time, and Parker officially asked Jillian to be his girlfriend. A little over a year later, Parker knew it was time. Jillian had always dreamed of getting engaged under the Northern Lights, and Parker had always dreamed of visiting Norway, where his family is from. So he emailed Jillian’s boss, secretly arranging time off for a surprise trip. For months, he studied European weather patterns, learned everything about aurora forecasts, and searched for the perfect viewing spot. Finally, he woke Jillian up early one morning and surprised her with the trip of a lifetime. They traveled from Norway to Sweden, where the chances of seeing the lights were highest. But the forecast for the entire week was cloudy, and each night Parker grew more anxious that Jillian’s dream might not happen. Then came the night he planned to propose. Despite the forecast, the sky cleared completely. The Northern Lights filled the sky—bright, dancing, stretching from horizon to horizon. Even the tour guides said it doesn’t get better than what they witnessed. It was nothing short of a miracle. Later that night, back at their glass-dome Airbnb, the fog lifted again, and they were gifted a second view of the lights glowing overhead. God cleared every cloud away just for them. Under the most magical sky imaginable, Parker proposed—fulfilling every part of Jillian’s dream and beginning the start of a forever they had both prayed for.
