El Yunque National Forest

Puerto Rico

El Yunque Rainforest is the only rainforest in the US! You can schedule tours on foot, ATVS, or just drive yourself to the beginning of a trail and get out and hike! There are both beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails for all to enjoy. Most have hidden swimming holes at the end, so don't forget to wear your bathing suit!

Ferry to Culebra & Vieques

Marina Drive, Roosevelt Roads, Ceiba 00735, Puerto Rico

There are many small islands near Puerto Rico that have breath taking beaches, and Vieques is home to one of the largest bioluminescent bays in the world! Swim with marine life at Zoni Beach in Culebra, or hang with the waves at Flamenco Beach. Ferries come multiple times a day from Ceiba, and are about $5 round trip.

Jayuya

Jayuya, Jayuya 00664, Puerto Rico

This is the town where Dennys was born and raised. It is in the middle of the island, about a 2 hour drive from San Juan through curvy small mountain roads. This to us is our favorite part of the island, as there are many rivers to swim in, places to go see, and family to visit. Please be mindful if you do want to visit Dennys and I will be glad to be tour guides but the drive can be a little intense for the first time!

Bahía Bioluminiscente

00765, Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is home to 3 bioluminescent bays out of 10 in the world. This website has information on where you can book tours to see one of these beautiful natural wonders. There is one tour about 45 minutes outside of San Juan and the other one is 45 minutes from our hotel block. The 3rd and brightest one is on the island of Vieques, a short ferry ride away. The website above includes information on how to book tours. (average price $40-80)
