We met amongst a sea of students in our senior year at UCSB, where we both studied Aquatic Biology. We shortly became best friends and explored beautiful sunny Santa Barbara together on the weekends! From bike rides downtown, to fishing and late night grunion runs, hiking in the rain, let's not forget eating Lilly's Tacos and Cajun Kitchen, we fell in love as best friends. I guess you could say we were a little inseparable, cooking in each others kitchens, riding our bikes to class, playing soccer and tennis, or staying up all night studying for finals. We loved being adventurous taking short getaways on long weekends to Monterey Bay where we watched otters while eating clam chowder, to Mammoth where we walked down the slope and went off roading at Mono Lake, to Big Sur where we hiked to waterfalls with native trout and camped along a beautiful cliffside, to Morro Bay where we saw more otters a deer and Daniel got bit by a squirrel, and lastly to San Simeon where we saw elephant seals (we won't talk about the time Jill almost knocked Daniel out here ;). Here's to more adventures in married life!!
What better place to say Yes or "Of Course!" than on the beach in Isla Vista where we met? Daniel popped the question on a rainy morning in Santa Barbara with one of Jill's beautiful abalone shells with the words "Will You Marry Me?" written inside. Little did he know, Jill almost cancelled the weekend from the rain!!!
