In early January, my sister, Gayleen, found herself at the local watering hole (aka Rudy’s) sitting next to Tim’s mom, Vickie. It was at this very moment Tim walked into the bar and Vickie took one look at her very handsome yet very single son and said to Gayleen, “Where in this town will my son ever meet a single girl?” Gayleen had only one girl in mind. So over the next few weeks, they both pushed us to connect with each other on Facebook. We both were very reluctant because we both were in a place in our lives that a “relationship” was the last thing we were searching for. So Gayleen and Vickie pushed harder. On 1-30-2015, Tim finally gave in and sent the Facebook message to me, asking if I’d like to meet him for a glass of wine. The next day, I wanted to cancel but my brother, Ryan, asked me, “What do you have to lose?” Tim and I met at Huggy’s Social House, both atleast 10 minutes late because we were so nervous. We sat at that bar for what felt like hours, talking about everything possible, quoting the same movies, laughing so hard our cheeks hurt, knowing in our minds that Gayleen and Vickie were right about this one. I went home that night and told my mom that I wasn’t sure if anything “romantic” would come out of this but I knew for sure I had just met my best friend. Tim called his mom that night and told her “I’m going to marry that girl!” On our second date, a hockey game and East 4th bar crawl, we sat down at the House of Blue’s bar and the very first thing he said to me was, “Tell me about your dad.” In that moment, I knew I would marry him because no one that I had ever dated showed such genuine curiosity about such an important person in my life. From that day on, we have nurtured and allowed our purest love for each develope into what it is today. We are both estatic to become husband and wife.
