Things To Do

Some of our favorite places to eat, drink, and wander in the city.

Rosetta

Cuauhtémoc, CDMX 06700, Mexico

We've gone here every trip to Mexico City and it doesn't disappoint. Mexican-inspired Italian food, or is it Italian-inspired Mexican? Either way, it's delicious. Blocks from the venue.

Lucha Libre

Lucha Libre

189 Calle Doctor Lavista, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06720, Mexico

More fun than you'd expect, we laughed our masks off while enjoying cheap beer and chips smothered in hot sauce.

Pujol

133 Tennyson, Ciudad de México, CDMX 11570, Mexico

Regarded as one of the best restaurants in the world, this spot opens reservations (and books up) 90 days in advance.

Bosque de Chapultepec

Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico

A gorgeous park in the city center that's a must-visit. Matthew's favorite spot to run in the city. The Museum of Archaeology is nearby.

Centro Historico

Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico

The Palacio National, the Metropolitan Church, the Templo Mayor, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes are all within the city center. Amazing culture and history within walking distance.

Café NIN

Cuahtemoc, CDMX 06600, Mexico

One of the most popular breakfast spots in the neighborhood, this place is the more casual outpost from the people behind Rosetta. Don't forget the concha!

Luis Barragán House and Studio

Luis Barragán House and Studio

General Francisco Ramírez 12-14, Cuidad de Mexico, CDMX 11840, Mexico

Buy tickets for this popular museum far in advance and be prepared for a fully-engaging architectural delight unlike anything else.

Churrería El Moro

122 Frontera, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

Renowned 24-hour churrería — the Roma location would make a great stop after the wedding for a sweet way to end the night.

Restaurante El Cardenal

23 Calle de la Palma, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06000, Mexico

Go here for an all-out Mexican breakfast experience in the historic Centro. A beautiful, bustling restaurant with excellent service.

Frida Kahlo Museum

Londres 247, Ciudad de México, CDMX 04100, Mexico

One of the many must-visit museums in Mexico City.

Lalo

173 Zacatecas, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

Fun, well-regarded spot for a breakfast fit to fuel you for a night of dancing.

Contramar

200 Calle de Durango, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

Some of the best seafood in the city and a very popular lunch spot.

El Califa

22 Altata, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06170, Mexico

One of the more popular taco outposts in the city, this is a casual spot with several locations and consistently delicious tacos.

Taquería El Turix

Miguel Hidalgo, CDMX 11550, Mexico

We haven't been but this is a "must visit" taco recommendation from a friend. "You need to look carefully for this tiny tiny little spot in CDMX's fanciest neighborhood - the sign is on the glass window. They only have cochinita pibil, no tables." Eat quickly, leave happily.

Tour Like a Local

Tour Like a Local

45 Guillermo Prieto, Ciudad de México, CDMX 15800

We haven't done this, but it comes highly recommended. "We toured the Mercado Jamaica (flower market) with him, had some samples at food stalls, then went back to his dried chile shop to learn about the history of the chile, make our own salsa, and taste some really delicious mexican dishes. And there was mezcal too! I loved it!"
