Traverse City Fall Colors

Traverse City's orchards, vineyards, forests, and villages create a beautiful patchwork of orange, crimson, scarlet, and gold. Whichever route you choose, it will be the perfect one for a drive that combines fall color with views of the bay, visits to wineries and roadside fruit stands, and unforgettable meals.

Go Wine or Beer Tasting

Explore more than 40 wineries along the Traverse Wine Coast, where patios, sweeping vineyards, and tented pavilions allow patrons to sip safely. And if wine isn't your thing (or maybe you just want a beer) you'll find that fall color and beer naturally go together in northern Michigan. Ambers, golden IPA’s and stouts they’re all on the menu for an autumn beer tour.

The distinct wineries that comprise this stunning appellation have been well recognized by wine enthusiasts the world over.

Sip Some Cider

You’ve heard about Traverse City’s wine and beer, but do you know about cider? On tap, in a growler, and even in a six-pack of cans, cider is now available at many of the local wineries. And if you’re not into the hard stuff, there’s always sweet cider (and donuts!).

Shopping along Front Street

We've made shopping in Traverse City easy with these recommendations! If ever there was a perfect place for a shopping adventure, it would have to be downtown Traverse City. Front Street’s evocative brick sidewalks and 19th-century Victorian storefronts are a wonderful setting, especially throughout the year when the trees overhead show off their natural displays. Spring brings white blossoms, autumn brings rich fall colors and winter shows off fresh snow-covered branches adorned with twinkling lights. Downtown’s 150 shops, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants are filled with new discoveries just waiting to be found.

Spend time on the Old Mission Peninsula

The Old Mission Peninsula is an 18-mile sliver of land that juts out into the turquoise-blue waters of Grand Traverse Bay and teems with natural beauty and some of the most stunning vistas in the region.
