Charleston City Market
One of the nation’s oldest public markets and the cultural heart of Charleston! The Charleston City Market is home to more than 300 vibrant entrepreneurs, artists, chefs, and shops. No matter what time of day or season you plan to visit, there is something to see, do, taste, and take home as a souvenir from the Charleston City Market. Day market hours: Open daily from 9:30-5:00pm Night market hours: Friday & Saturday night 6:30-10:30pm.
White Point Garden
The White Point Garden public park provides a scenic slice of Charleston life, with incredible views that span across the intersections of the Ashley and Cooper Rivers. Fort Sumter, Castle Pinckney, and the Sullivan Island Lighthouse can all be spotted in the distance from this downtown region, however, like most public parks and gathering spaces in Charleston, this wide open patch of green space is equally known for its centuries of historical events as it is for its sheer beauty.
The Battery
The Battery is a landmark defensive seawall and promenade in Charleston, famous for its stately antebellum homes. It stretches along the lower shores of the Charleston peninsula, boarded by the Ashley and Cooper rivers. The path along the High Battery seawall (1.2 miles) is perfect for a morning run or leisurely afternoon stroll. The Battery and White Point Garden together form the popular Battery Park area.
Shem Creek
15 minutes outside of Charleston over the Ravenel bridge, you'll find the laidback riverside of Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant. The popular waterfront dining and drinking district has a park and boardwalk offering panoramic views of the marsh and Charleston harbor.
Isle of Palms
30 minutes east of Charleston is Isle of Palms, a favorite beach of Jill & Will's to visit! Make a quick trip for a beautiful sunrise, watch live music at the Windjammer, grab dinner at Acme Low Country Kitchen, or grab a margarita at The Dinghy.
