Hyatt Place Long Island/East End

This is a lovely downtown hotel in a riverfront location. You are within walking distance to a variety of activities and restaurants and there is a pool, restaurant and waterfront bar on the premises. A “gallery kitchen” breakfast is included. We are only able to get a maximum 10 room block at this hotel. If you would like to reserve a room here, please call the hotel directly at 1-631-208-0002 x0 and mention the Goldberg/Talbot Wedding Block. There is a 2 night minimum. Pricing is higher on Friday night, September 1, 2023, but much more reasonable on Saturday and Sunday nights. Unfortunately, check-in is at 4 PM so you will not be able to check in on Saturday and make it to the venue on time.

The Preston House & Hotel

This is a very small high end boutique style hotel also located in downtown Riverhead directly across from the Hyatt Place. Due to it’s small size, we are only able to get a 5 room block here. All rooms are suites. If you would like to reserve a room here, please call the hotel directly and mention the Goldberg/Talbot Wedding Block. There is also a 2 night minimum here and check in is again at 4 PM. A light breakfast is included and you are in the downtown area within walking distance to some activities and restaurants.

Hotel Indigo Long Island - East End, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is lovely, but it is more off the beaten path. If shopping is your thing, you are very close to the Riverhead Outlets, but you are not walking distance to any restaurants or activities. However, there is an outdoor pool, firepit area, gym, bar and restaurant on the premises. There is no minimum stay requirement here (YAY) and breakfast is included. The hotel does offer a free shuttle that will bring you into downtown Riverhead or to a nearby vineyard or brewery if interested. Because of its location, prices are a bit lower and we were able to get a small room block. Rooms are available Thursday, August 31, 2023 through September 4, 2023.

Ocean View Terrace Inn & Suites

This is a small, rustic and “campy Hamptons” property. There is an outdoor pool and a small bay beach across the road. (Despite the name of this hotel…there is no ocean view!) Some of the rooms do have a bay view and there is an outdoor pool on the premises. There is no restaurant here, but I was told many guests take the very short walk to the Hampton Maid Hotel for breakfast. Water sport rentals are available. A car would be helpful in this location, but Ubers and taxis are available. If interested in learning more about this property call 631-728-4036 for more information.

Residence Inn by Marriott Long Island East End

This hotel is located in a commercial area and is not walking distance to any restaurants or activities, but there is transportation that can take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius. We do not have a room block here, but if you are a Marriott fan, you may want to look into it. All rooms are suites and there is an indoor and outdoor pool, 24 hour fitness center and a complimentary buffet breakfast. Call 631-905-5811 or go online to make a reservation.

The Hampton Maid

This is also a very campy, Hamptons-rustic property. It is quite iconic, being around for 62 years, but the rooms have been updated. There is also an outdoor pool, restaurant and even a very quirky gift shop. There are a wide variety of room types here so your best option is to go onto their website or call them directly at 631-728-4166. Breakfast is available (not included) at their restaurant but a car would be needed to get around.

Long Island Railroad, Pennsylvania (Penn) Station, NYC

1. Trains to Riverhead: Take the Ronkonkoma Branch from New York Penn Station to Riverhead. Purchase tickets at Penn Station. No advance ticket purchase necessary. See the Long Island Railroad website (lirr42.mta.info) for schedules and pricing. Travel time is approximately 2 hours. 2. Trains to Westhampton Beach: Take the Montauk Branch from New York Penn Station to Westhampton. Purchase tickets at Penn Station. No advance ticket purchase necessary. You will probably need to change trains in either Jamaica or Babylon. See the Long Island Railroad website (lirr42.mta.info) for schedules and pricing. Travel time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.

John F. Kennedy Airport

Located about 1 hour and 15 minutes from downtown Riverhead and 1 hour and 30 minutes from Westhampton Beach, you will find numerous options into and out of JFK. All rental cars available. ***Please keep in mind that holiday weekend traffic will likely factor into travel time.***

LaGuardia is located a similar distance as JFK from Riverhead and Westhampton Beach (about 1 hour and 20 minutes), so it’s a matter of personal preference as to which of these to use. Long Island MacArthur Airport

Located about 30 minutes from downtown Riverhead and 35 minutes from Westhampton Beach, this is the best airport to fly into. There are very few direct flights, but we would strongly suggest a connecting flight whenever possible. Enterprise Rental Car location.
