FAQ/Know Before you Go

We thought you may have a few questions. Here are some answers!
Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 15, 2024

Question

When I land, where should I go, what should I do?

Answer

If you booked your stay at the Hilton Los Cabos through our room block link, your reservation includes private transport to/from the airport. Please make sure to coordinate this directly with the hotel in advance of your travels (see "Flights and Hotel" tab above for hotel contact info). If you are staying at Hilton Cabo Azul, you can work directly with the hotel to arrange transportation (see the "Flights and Hotel" tab above for hotel contact information) or you can use the transportation companies we have pre negotiated with (see below for contact info). If you are staying elsewhere, we also recommend you organize airport transfers before you arrive. While you can take Ubers/taxis throughout Cabo, we do not recommend going this route to/from the airport. We have pre-negotiated preferential rates with two transportation companies (see contact info below), please mention Blumberg/Partridge wedding when contacting them. As you are exiting customs - you will find many people with clipboards trying to sell you timeshares, book you transportation, etc. - do not stop. Keep walking outside where the official transportation you booked will be waiting for you with your name on a clipboard. (when you book your transportation in advance they will provide details on where to find them on-site at the airport).

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have arranged room blocks at two different hotels with preferred rates–the Hilton Los Cabos and the Hilton Cabo Azul (see "Flights and Hotel" tab above). The Hilton Los Cabos is located in the Tourist Corridor area of Cabo, and Hilton Cabo Azul is located in San Jose del Cabo. If you are considering booking your own hotel or Airbnb, we recommend booking either in San Jose del Cabo or the Tourist Corridor as they are closest to the wedding festivities. We recommend staying at one of the two hotels as we will be providing transport to/from the Welcome Party on Friday and to/from the Wedding on Saturday. Transportation from the hotels will be for hotel guests only and will not be provided from any other locations. For airport transfers, you can work with the hotel to coordinate transportation to/from the hotel and airport upon your arrival and departure or book private transport through one of our recommended transport vendors (see contact info below).

Question

Your wedding is on Saturday afternoon, when should I arrive?

Answer

We will be hosting a Welcome Party on Friday evening beginning at 6pm local time (separate invitation to follow). Most people are arriving on Thursday night or Friday morning - of course, do what works best for you and we look forward to seeing you on Friday night at the Welcome Party.

Question

What is the dress code for the welcome party and wedding?

Answer

THE WEDDING We are looking forward to hosting a semi-formal wedding and invite you to come dressed to impress. For the ladies: Fancy, festive cocktail dresses (long or short). Our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour are being held outside on the grass. We know you will want to come wearing your cutest heels (and we love that!!!) We will provide heel protectors in your welcome bag so that you can wear your choice of shoes. We will also provide flip flops at the reception so you can boogie the night away celebrating with us without having to worry about sore feet! Cabo can get chilly at night, and while we know you'll keep warm dancing with us, please consider bringing a light jacket, pashmina or shawl to keep you warm once the sun sets. For the men: Suits and ties. ***ADDITIONAL NOTE*** We know that everyone thinks of Cabo as a beach destination (and it is!!) but our wedding venue is NOT located on the beach or near the beach. Our venue is a gorgeous 100 year old working farm and is stunning. You're going to love it! THE WELCOME PARTY Smart casual vacation attire would be perfect. For the ladies, think fancy sundresses or vacation sets. For the men, collared shirts, and slacks (feel free to throw on a sport coat if you want to look extra dapper).

Question

What are we doing during the day on Friday & Saturday?

Answer

No official wedding events are planned during the day, so feel free to enjoy the best of Cabo on Friday & Saturday afternoon. We have pulled together some recommendations on local beaches, deep sea fishing and other activities on the “Things to Do” tab on our wedding website. We recommend soaking in the beautiful Cabo weather, beaches and food. On Friday, the welcome party starts at 6pm local time. On Saturday, the wedding festivities will begin at 3:30pm local time and shuttle pick-ups from our two hotels will begin before that - stay tuned for more information, which will be provided in your Welcome Bag.

Question

How do we get to the wedding venue? How far away is it?

Answer

We are providing transportation for guests staying at the Hilton Los Cabos and Hilton Cabo Azul. If you are not staying at those hotels - no problem - feel free to take an Uber or book private transport through our two suggested transport companies (see contact info below). The wedding venue is located in the San Jose del Cabo Animas Bajas area which is approximately 30 minutes away from the Tourist Corridor area. (feel free to look on google maps to determine how far you are from the venue to ensure you accommodate enough time if you are not staying at either of the hotels where we have arranged room blocks). If you are arranging your own transport to the wedding, please account for potential traffic, as there is only one main road leading to the venue. If you arrive to the venue early, please head to the bar and order yourself a refreshment!

Question

Talk to me about food on Saturday

Answer

As the wedding ceremony calls for a 3:30pm arrival and a 4pm start time, you can plan for cocktail hour between 4:30-5:45pm. As our wedding venue is known for over the top family style dinner service (with the most delicious fare), we will be serving light bites and passed apps during cocktail hour (making sure you’re not too full before the main meal). All of this is to say - know thyself - if you get hungry or peckish make sure to have lunch and bring a snack for the trip to the venue so that you are not too hungry under the hot sun of Cabo. Dinner on Saturday night will be served family style - so no menu selections required-although of course please do let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies!

Question

What’s the plan for Sunday?

Answer

Stay tuned for more information. We are likely organizing something more casual on Sunday as we know most people will be traveling back on Sunday.

Question

If I get in on Thursday is there anything official planned for Thursday evening?

Answer

We do not have an official wedding event planned for the full group on Thursday evening, but we highly recommend you go to the San Jose del Cabo Art Walk, which takes place on Thursday evenings from 5pm-10pm. We have also pulled together some restaurant recommendations on the “Travel Guide” tab on our wedding website.

Question

How do I get around once I'm in Cabo? What type of transportation will there be?

Answer

Taxis are cheap and convenient for trips to town. Ubers are also very safe and easy to book in the app. If you are interested in booking private transport for airport transfers, longer trips or just for your comfort, we recommend the following transport services. We have used both companies before and they are both extremely reliable and very responsive. Cabo Sunrise Transportation (Miguel Hernandez Chavez): US telephone number: (702) 913-3404 Mexico telephone number: +52 624 141 7936 Email: sunriselux01@gmail.com Danys Cabo Transportation: Cell phone : +52 624 127 5659 Email: danyscabo@gmail.com

Question

Are the beaches swimmable?

Answer

Although Cabo is known for it's magnificent beaches, many are not swimmable due to the severe rip currents. The beach at the Hilton Los Cabos is on a manmade break making it a wonderful swimmable beach. The beach at the Hilton Cabo Azul is not swimmable. Other incredible swimmable beaches include: Chileno Beach--one of the most beautiful beaches in Los Cabos, great for snorkeling, swimming and relaxing. The best yachts stop there for swimming and relaxing. This beach boasts a marine sanctuary, making it a prime location for observing a wide range of sea creatures and even the occasional sea turtle. Santa Maria Beach--amazing beach for swimming. Lover's Beach--offers unique snorkeling experiences and is popular for swimmng. You get there by boat.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

It's Mexico—as you'd expect, sandals, flowy dresses, and several great swimsuits are the norm. It does tend to get chilly at night, so we recommend you bring a light jacket or shawl/pashmina with you for the evening activities. Please check the "Details" tab above for more information about what to wear to each of our wedding events!

Question

Cabo, Los Cabos, San Jose del Cabo (What's the Difference?)

Answer

Los Cabos—commonly known as Cabo—is actually a catchall name for two distinct cities along the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula: beachy Cabo San Lucas and artsy San José del Cabo.
