Coralville Lake provides many recreational opportunities like boating, swimming, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, disc golf, bird watching, Fossil Gorge and camping. Campgrounds at Coralville Lake include three campgrounds with just over 500 campsites. The campsite types range from primitive tent to full hook-ups with water, sewer and electricity at the sites.
This glimpse into Iowa's geologic past was first exposed during the Floods of 1993 at Coralville Lake. The fossils and limestone bedrock of the Devonian Fossil Gorge date back almost 200 million years before the dinosaurs!
