Jill and Joseph’s story began in August of 2011 during orientation at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Joseph noticed his future bride on the first day of orientation and asked her to lunch later that week. Needless to say, the couple quickly discovered just how much they enjoyed being in one another’s company and by the time school officially began, Jill & Joseph were dating.
Joseph knew Jill was aware the engagement was coming. He had been planning for months, including designing a beautiful morganite ring surrounded by diamonds from Joseph’s grandmother. As he prepared for the day of the proposal, Joseph knew he would take Jill to Sessions for a lovely brunch and propose in the beautiful Presidio. But, he wanted to add another element of surprise! Unbeknownst to Jill, Joseph asked Jill’s sister, Lane, to fly into town from NYC to be there for the occasion. Joseph’s best friend Danny, and dear friend Vero (who would photograph the engagement) would also be in on the surprise proposal. As the plan was being executed, Lane, Danny, and Vero hid in the park while Jill and Joseph finished brunch. Meanwhile, Jill was excitedly texting Lane, “I think he is going to propose today!” Little did Jill know her sister, Danny, and Vero were hiding only a few hundred feet away to watch the event unfold! As Jill & Joseph walked across the Presidio on a surprisingly sunny San Francisco day, Joseph stopped in a clearing, got down on one knee, and proposed! After some sweet words and excited tears, Jill said yes! Immediately, Lane and Danny emerged from their hiding places (a trash can and bench, respectively) to surprise Jill with hugs and flowers. Jill was shocked to see her sister, Danny, and Vero! FaceTime calls immediately ensued between the future bride and groom and their parents. A celebration followed with champagne and burgers back at Sessions. Jill & Joseph are so excited to share their special day with you and look forward to dancing the night away with their favorite people!
