Bike the Rails to Trails Great Allegheny Passage
Rent bikes from one of many outfitters in Ohiopyle State Park. Ride for about 10 miles to Confluence where there's a cafe and an ice cream shop!
Beam Rock Trail
An easy and flat 1 mile hike with excellent views of the Laurel Highlands
Ligonier
Steeped in history dating back to the French & Indian War at Fort Ligonier, the town hosts over 60 specialty shops, galleries, restaurants and places to stay. The scenic valley surrounding the town is home to Idlewild Park & SoakZone – voted “Best Amusement Park for Children in the World." A favorite restaurant here is Kitchen on Main!
Ohiopyle State Park
Located at the southern reaches of the Laurel Ridge, Ohiopyle State Park serves as the gateway to the Laurel Highlands. Passing through the heart of the park, the rushing waters of the Youghiogheny River Gorge are the centerpiece for Ohiopyle. The "Yough" provides some of the best whitewater boating in the eastern United States, as well as spectacular scenery. Other activites are biking the Great Allegheny Passage, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, picnicking, horsebacking riding, rock climbing, and hiking. Duquesne Incline
Enjoy a spectacular panorama of Pittsburgh and its three rivers. Ride to the incline's Observation Deck in the 145-year-old Incline car to see what USA Today Weekend Magazine calls one of the "10 most beautiful views in America". Historical exhibits in the waiting room entertain between rides.
