Regarding travel, for out-of-towners (which are most of you!), the best way to get to our wedding venue depends on where you are coming from. In terms of lodging location, that will depend on what you are looking for as there's a lot to do in Baltimore area while you're in town!
For folks in the LI NY area, you could take the LI RR to Penn Station and then take Amtrak to Baltimore's Penn Station. You can then take an uber to wherever you will be staying. From Penn Station, Fells Point is about a 20-minute drive, as are the hotels in the Catonsville area.
From the LI/NYC area, it is about a 4-hour drive to Baltimore, MD. From NJ and PA, it's about a 3-hour drive.
Alternatives to taking the train and driving are flying to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. This might be the quickest option for most people.

This is a hotel that is very close to where we live in Fells Point. It's in a beautiful location right off the water and about a 20-minute drive to the ceremony. If you are looking to explore Fells Point or the Inner Harbor area, this might be a good option.
