Though it may make our logistics planning a little more complicated :), we picked these two locations to celebrate two of our favorite parts of our DC-area home together. For the ceremony, we simply love the American history and patriotism found on the National Mall! And for our reception, we cannot wait to share with our guests the natural beauty of Virginia as you near the Shenandoah Valley and the colonial history of Northern Virginia. We hope you get a full sense of our home during your travels.
We are asking our guests to submit their RSVPs online by Friday, October 7. Once invitations are sent, the RSVP link can be found along the Menu bar of this site! Thanks so much in advance.
If you can swing the extra days of travel, we love that you're considering an extended stay to see our Nation's Capital! We suggest tacking on extra days at the front end of the trip to avoid the travel prices associated with the upcoming Thanksgiving Day weekend. While you are more than welcome to stay at the hotel blocks we've reserved for your entire stay, you may also want to consider staying within DC (or nearby in Arlington or Alexandria) during your extra days to be conveniently close to the museums and monuments. And though it is not a requirement because of the wide availability of public transit and rideshare apps, a rental car may also provide you a wider array of options as there are many attractions in the surrounding area, such as George Washington's Mt. Vernon Estate and other beautiful wineries!
There are three airport options in the DC area, however we recommend only looking at the IAD (Dulles International) and DCA (Washington Reagan) options, as they are the most convenient to our venues. While DCA is the closest to Washington, IAD is closest to our hotel blocks and our reception venue, and there is a free shuttle service to our hotels from IAD for when you arrive/depart. IAD also tends to have cheaper roundtrip flights available.
Yes! Your little ones are more than welcome at our ceremony and reception. We just ask that you note their attendance in your RSVP so we can plan for food and spaces on our shuttle services.
We are asking our guests to dress in Cocktail Attire. And though fall time in DC is generally very mild, you'll want to consider bringing along a nice coat just in case it gets chilly!
