Yes! Beer, wine, and signature cocktails will be served.
Western Formal Our wedding will be held in a mountain horse pasture beneath the stunning peak of Mount Princeton — a setting that’s as elegant as it is wild. We’re asking guests to dress in Western Formal attire: think classic wedding wear with a Western twist. For women, that might mean dresses or jumpsuits paired with boots, statement jewelry, or a wide-brim hat. Shoes? It's all grass minus the dance floor so wear whatever shoes you're comfortable walking in a pasture in (i.e. don't wear stilletos). For men, suits or dress pants with button-downs are great — feel free to add a bolo tie, cowboy boots, or a Western jacket. Fancy, but comfortable enough for a celebration under the open sky. In short: dress to impress, but don’t be afraid to show a little cowboy spirit.
We’re having an unplugged ceremony—please turn off phones and enjoy the moment with us. Photos welcome afterward!
Yes, there will be a shuttle to the and from the venue on wedding day. We will provide details of locations and shuttle schedule closer to the date. Otherwise, please plan to drive or carpool.
It's a high altitude desert. Expect very sunny days with dry heat and cool evenings. Temps can range widely, so pack layers and sunscreen. Sandals are nice during the day but you will want shoes in the evening. You will want some chapstick.
The ceremony will be outdoors with mountain views; the reception will be covered but may still be open-air weather permitting. Buena Vista can be breezy and there are occasional rain showers in July.
We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration.
If your invitation includes a plus one, they’ll be listed by name. Feel free to reach out if you’re unsure.
We’re at about 8,000 feet. Take the stairs slow, stay hydrated, take it easy the first day, and limit alcohol until you acclimate. And wear sunscreen. If you are pregnant, please check with your doctor about spending time at elevation.
Fly into Denver (DEN) or Colorado Springs (COS). Buena Vista is about a 2.5–3-hour drive from either airport. We suggest taking US 285 from Denver as oppossed to 70. In Colorado, 70 is known for unpredictable traffic and extended closures due to car accidents. Mountain roads can be winding, so please drive carefully.
Yes, we recommend renting a car and car pooling if you can. There are no taxis, Ubers or Lyfts in Buena Vista. That said, Buena Vista is a very small town and nothing here is far away. On wedding day, there will be a shuttle before the ceremony and at the end of the night but not in between.
Yes, there will be parking available on-site.
