As many of you know, Nisha and I have been together for a couple of years and will be getting married in October; what all of you might not know is how we met! So let’s see if I can remember it correctly... I was out with my good friend Shivam one night and after a LONG night out in Buckhead it was finally time to go home. Shivam, however, wasn’t ready to go home... he wanted, no, demanded we go eat before we called it a night. He had already made some calls and found that we had some friends who were also out late and had a table at the finest diner in town (not really). After a brief argument with my inebriated counterpart I succumbed to his relentless pursuit of food. Upon arriving at Landmark Diner (4am) we found our group of friends dining at our usual table in the back. We joined them and all was right with the world... until, that is, Shivam and Nisha started talking. Nisha was the only person at the table who we did not already know. During conversation, Shivam, as usual, made a few quick witted jokes to which Nisha sharply replied, putting him in his place! I saw this quip and thought to myself, “Challenge Accepted!” There was something about her sass, wit and independence that grew on me in mere moments. At this point I knew I wanted to know more but didn’t know how to facilitate that without an awkward silence at a table among friends who no doubt would have roasted me for trying to pick up a girl at Landmark Diner at 4am! Nonetheless I couldn’t let the moment slip away so I casually brought my phone to its dialing screen and without much ado simply handed it to this beautiful girl across the table, hoping she wouldn’t embarrass me! She looked at me, looked at my phone, and casually entered her number and handed it back without incident. It’s been nothing but incidents ever since! I’m kidding, I wouldn’t trade that night for a Klondike bar.
