The Grahshanti ceremony is a significant pre-wedding ritual where a pooja is performed to seek blessings from planetary deities and remove any obstacles for the couple. The core purpose of this ceremony is to neutralize negative planetary influences, ensuring a smooth and prosperous marriage. It involves several key rituals, including the Navagrah Puja (worship of the nine planets in Vedic astrology) and a Pooja to Lord Ganesha (the remover of obstacles).

Attire: Bright, festive colors, particularly yellow and/or orange, which symbolizes new beginnings and prosperity. The bride might choose a saree, lehenga, or skirt set, while the groom may wear a kurta dhoti or kurta pajama set. Guests can opt for similar traditional attire or fusion wear, keeping the bright and cheerful vibe of the ceremony in mind.
The Pithi Ceremony is a joyful pre-wedding ritual where a paste made of turmeric, sandalwood, and other ingredients is applied to the bride and groom's skin. The paste is believed to purify and brighten the skin, symbolizing the couple’s journey towards a fresh, beautiful new life together. The ceremony is filled with laughter, music, and family and friend bonding, as loved ones take part in this special custom. We encourage all guests to take part in the Pithi Ceremony by applying the turmeric paste to the bride and groom, offering your blessings and good wishes to this joyful and colorful tradition!

Hop aboard a traditional chiva party bus for an unforgettable 3-hour ride through the vibrant streets of Medellín! This private celebration includes 1 hour of live music, 2 beers per person, and plenty of Aguardiente to keep the party going. Dress in your poncho and hat, and get ready to dance, laugh, and enjoy the rhythm of Colombia with your friends and family. It’s all done Paisa style—a lively, warm, and festive way of celebrating that’s unique to the people of Medellín and the Antioquia region. Expect great music, high energy, and unforgettable memories!

Attire: Traditional Indian or Western Formal - guests can wear colorful and vibrant attire, leaning towards traditional Indian-inspired outfits or incorporating bright colors into Western attire. Bright colors and bold patterns are generally encouraged, while avoiding black and white.
**Guests should be ready to depart hotel at 11:30am via chartered buses. Please meet in hotel lobby.** The Baraat is a lively and joyous procession in a Hindu wedding, where the groom, accompanied by his family and friends, arrives at the bride’s home or wedding venue. This procession is filled with music, dancing, and celebration as the groom rides in on a horse (elephant was unavailable 😄), symbolizing his readiness to take on the responsibilities of marriage. It marks the beginning of the wedding ceremony, with the bride’s family welcoming the groom and his party with open arms and blessings.

For many of you, this may be your first experience at a Hindu wedding, and don’t worry — the priest is fully prepared to guide you through every step of the ceremony, so you’ll be just as much a part of the journey as we are. Just sit back, enjoy the spiritual atmosphere, and let’s take this next step together as we celebrate love, culture, and new beginnings! Light refreshments will be served throughout the wedding ceremony.
