Angel was working as an after school teacher at Alvarado Elementary School. The program was being taken over by another organization, one which Jiezel had interned for and was offered a job. She actually requested to be placed at a different school site, however, was placed at Alvarado because they needed more teachers. Angel decided to make the switch and apply to the new organization since he wanted to stay at Alvarado. On the first day of training, Jiezel walked through the doors (a little late as always) and caught Angel's eye. They didn't actually speak to each other until a few months later and became good friends. Angel started to develop feelings for Jiezel, but didn't act on them as she was dating someone at the time. He hid his feelings really well. Fast forward a few months and Jiezel is no longer dating anyone. Angel wasted no time in trying his luck with Jiezel. She let him down gently, saying that she doesn't want a relationship at the moment and wanted to focus on herself. Angel respected her decision, but continued to be there for Jiezel and show her how much he cares about her. He would ask his mom to make Jiezel food because she missed home cooked Filipino food. He would bring her her favorite snacks during a certain time of month. He would answer every phone call and listen to every problem. Somewhere between all the hangouts and late night calls, Jiezel finally fell for Angel... and the rest is history.
