We're getting married!

We met in 2012 at a college party—Paolo was there for the partying, Jica for the occasional break from nursing school. Somehow, our paths kept crossing, and Paolo couldn’t stop noticing the girl who didn’t show up to every party like everyone else. After a few run-ins, he slid into her DMs, saying, “You should text me.” Of course, Jica texted him first—and we still laugh about that to this day. Our first movie date was Fast & Furious 6 in 2013. Little did we know, years later the franchise would still be going strong—and so would we. Jica encouraged Paolo to pursue nursing if they wanted to build a future together. He agreed, even though it meant leaving behind his Best Buy dreams (lol). On April 4, 2014, Paolo asked Jica to be his girlfriend. Movie nights turned into gym dates, gym dates turned into vacations, and vacations turned into a lifetime of memories. It may have taken Paolo 10 years, but he always knew Jica was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Who knew a DM and a Fast & Furious movie would lead us here? Eleven years later, we’re still each other’s favorite adventure. From college days to careers, from movie nights to milestones — each chapter has been better because we’ve written it together. Now we’re ready for our greatest adventure yet — building our life as husband and wife.

Fast forward to January 2024 — ten years later — when both our families took a vacation to the Philippines together. Paolo knew it would be the perfect moment to propose on the white sands of Boracay. He secretly saved up for a ring and even booked a photographer to capture the moment — while everyone told Jica it was just a family photoshoot. During a group photo with both of our families, Paolo dropped to one knee and asked Jica to marry him. And thankfully… she said yes! It was a moment full of love, laughter, and a little bit of “about time.” Romantic, a little playful, and made even more special with our families there to share in the joy.
