Things To Do

Pu'uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park

State Highway 160, Hōnaunau, HI 96726
, (808) 328-2326

Jhernie and I went here as one of the first historical sites on the Big Island together. It's a great place snorkel as well!

Donna's Cookies

42-1019 Hawaiʻi Belt Rd, Paauilo, HI 96776
, (808) 776-1668

Our favorite place to get treats. Our favors are from here!

Lava Lava Beach Club

69-1081 Ku'uali'i Place, Waikoloa Village, HI 96738
, (808) 769-5282

We've spent quite a few nights sipping mai-tais on the beach here

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, HI 96778

Absolutely stunning views and hikes. You can unwrinkle your suit if you stand in front of the steam vents long enough.

Greenwell Farms Inc

81-6581 Mamalahoa Highway, Kealakekua, HI 96750
, (808) 323-2275

Jhernie and I first visited Greenwell on a tour with Island Wide Family Tours and had an amazing time seeing coffee from plant to cup! Great place to get some beans to send home.

Painted Church Road

Painted Church Road, Captain Cook, HI 96704

Another beautiful spot to understand Hawaiian history that we did on an island tour. Both beautiful and interesting.

Pololū Valley

Pololū Beach, HI 96755

Stunning views and a great hike down to the beach. Not a great place to tan but an amazing place to appreciate the mountains meeting the sea. Jhernie hiked here on my first visit to the big island.

Hapuna Beach

HI 96743

Mike's favorite beach on the island by far. Great for tanning, body surfing, swimming. You can check out the toilet bowl if you dare!
