Miguel and Julianna are an online dating success story! Miguel made the first move by "heart"ing one of her highlighted profile photos. Julianna thought he was too cool for her, with his motorcycle and tattoos, but took a chance and messaged him back. The online conversation flowed so well they agreed to meet in person for a first date. In fact, Julianna canceled her first date with him, but Miguel gave her another shot! Finally their first date was on a Thursday night in Downtown San Jose at a Christmas themed bar, Miracle on 1st Street at Paper Planes. The date went so well that he came back the next night, met some of the cousins, and never left!

A year after meeting, Miguel and Julianna began to seriously talk about marriage, style of engagement rings, and building a future together. A week before Christmas, Miguel drove to his future in laws' house to speak to Rosie and Sergio about his plan to propose and showed them the ring. Of course he had to leave the ring at their house so Julianna wouldn't find it in their home. Miguel also spoke with Julianna's brother, Sergio, and shared his plans to propose. With her families' blessing, Miguel geared up for a Christmas Day proposal! Miguel and Julianna were hosting Christmas at their house. After brunch and exchanging presents, Miguel announced that there was one more present to come. It was then that he walked towards Julianna, pulled out a ring, and kneeled with a very important question! Julianna was so shocked that she said yes, through a mess of tears and emotions! We celebrated the rest of the day with champagne, tamale making with Sally (Miguel's mother), and time with both our families.
