Becoming The Smiths

This beautiful love story begins in January of 2023, where the two met and began spending the next few months as good friends, getting to know one another. Priya was still fairly new to the city, so they spent a lot of time exploring Columbus and making fun memories. It was only a matter of time before feelings grew, and the two quickly realized that this was the partner they had been praying for all along! On one sweet, Saturday evening in July, Jevon decided that it was time to make things official. On July 29, 2023, he asked Priya to be his girlfriend, and of course she said yes! On that day, a missing rib was found, and it was truly history from there. But, it wasn't always sunshine and rainbows. Early that next year, the Lord took the couple through a season of separation, to deepen their relationship with Him. Although they had confessed their love for one another, there was a missing puzzle piece that wasn't always at the center of the relationship–and it was God. Many tears were shed, and it certainly wasn't an easy process having to walk away from the one you truly believe is God-sent. But obedience is the tough and necessary walk as a Christian, and if we wanted this to be our forever, we had to submit it to God first. During those two months, both Priya and Jevon grew immensely in their relationship with Jesus. They began serving at church, spending time in their Word and christ-like community, and Jevon even got baptized in March of 2024! After weeks of prayer and fasting, the Lord revealed to us that he was pleased, and it was time for us to reunite–but with Him at the center. A very tough season in our story, is actually the reason we are so strong and full of faith today. Our God is a restorer and a redeemer, and because we sought Him first, he added fullness, love, and eternity back into our relationship. (Matthew 6:33) Later that year, we took the next step with our God-ordained love. On November 8, 2024 the two became one (well, almost!) Jevon proposed to Priya and it was time to start planning our future together.. and that's why you're reading this now!
