After Katrina, I went to work at Café Adelaide. Josh was the lead bartender and I was the lead server. We had to work on the training manual together and the rest was filled with lots of laughter and possibly drinks.
Josh had all these elaborate plans of how he should propose. I had a couple of suggestions, like make sure my hair is done, make sure we have a photographer, make sure my nails are done. He sure did surprise me. It should’ve been a super sad moment, Allegro Bistro, my family‘s restaurant was closing. It was the very last day they would be open. I was behind the bar and he came straight after work and hopped behind the bar to help out because we were so busy. The lights dimmed. The song, At last by Etta James came on. I looked down and saw him on the floor. I thought he fell. Then I noticed a Tiffany ring box with him smiling ear to ear. I just started crying. In my head, all I kept saying was try to remember what he saying to me! He asked me to be his wife. Of course I said yes! The whole bar erupted in cheer. Josh even brought our special champagne glasses to toast. He thought of everything! It was a great proposal. My hair wasn’t done, my nails weren’t done, but we had tons of loved ones to take lots of pictures. It was perfect!
