¡Nos vamos a casar!

Nancy: Al mirar nuestro amor a través de estos años, puedo ver que Dios tenía preparada nuestra historia desde el inicio; quien iba imaginar que siendo adolecentes y teniendo nuestras vidas en diferentes direcciones, nuestro futuro ya estaba escrito para conocernos y llevar nuestra historia hasta el día de hoy. Nos conocimos en el verano de 2016 cuando yo tenía apenas 15 años y Jesus ya tenía 16, él iba un grado más adelante que yo en la preparatoria y ni siquiera estábamos en la misma escuela. En teoría, nuestros caminos no tendrían que cruzarse… Sin embargo, los planes de Dios son claros y perfectos. Jesús conocía a mi amiga Angy desde la primaria y la secundaria. Yo conocí a Angy en la secundaria ya que vivíamos en el mismo vecindario, y con el tiempo se convirtió en una de mis amigas más cercanas. Durante ese verano de 2016 entre mi primer y segundo año de preparatoria, Angy y yo éramos inseparables, Pasábamos casi todos los días juntas, en el parque, en nuestras casas, saliendo a comer, simplemente disfrutando el verano, publicabamos todo en Snapchat, riéndonos y creando recuerdos sin imaginar que esos momentos tan simples eran parte de una gran historia de amor. Un día de ese verano, mientras Angy publicaba una historia en snapchat, Jesús la vio y la llevó a preguntarle quién era yo y cómo podía escribirme para hablar conmigo. Y con un simple mensaje de Hola, ¿ sabes quien soy? jejeje…Soy Jesús, comenzó esta gran historia…. Jesús: Tal como ella lo describe, aunque eso para mi fue un acto de gran valor jajaja… gracias a la historia en redes de nuestra amiga en común, comenzamos a conversar por chat, realmente eran conversaciones muy casuales, mensajes de ida y vuelta nos fueron envolviendo cada día; despertando la curiosidad de conocernos en persona e invitarla a salir…y con ese interés viene la segunda etapa de nuestra historia y sin duda la decisión más acertada que he tomado, ya que cambió por completo el rumbo de mi vida.

Nancy: As I look at our love through the years, I can see that God had our story prepared from the very beginning. Who would have imagined that, as teenagers with our lives heading in different directions, our future was already written for us to meet and carry our story to this day. We met in the summer of 2016 when I was just 15 years old and Jesus was already 16. He was one grade ahead of me in high school, and we weren’t even in the same school. In theory, our paths were never supposed to cross… However, God’s plans are clear and perfect. Jesus had known my friend Angy since elementary and middle school. I met Angy in middle school because we lived in the same neighborhood, and over time she became one of my closest friends. During that summer of 2016, between my freshman and sophomore year of high school, Angy and I were inseparable. We spent almost every day together at the park, at our houses, going out to eat simply enjoying the summer. We posted everything on Snapchat, laughing and creating memories without imagining that those simple moments were part of a great love story. One day that summer, while Angy was posting a story on Snapchat, Jesus saw it and decided to ask her who I was and how he could message me to talk. And with a simple message: “Hi, do you know who I am? Haha… I’m Jesus,” this great story began… Jesus: Just as she describes it although for me, that was an act of great courage hahaha… Thanks to our mutual friend’s social media story, we began chatting. At first, they were very casual conversations, simple back-and-forth messages that gradually drew us in each day, awakening the curiosity to meet in person and invite her out… And with that interest came the second chapter of our story and without a doubt, the best decision I have ever made, because it completely changed the course of my life.

Nancy: Abajo está nuestra primera foto juntos: la noche que todo comenzó. Nancy: Teniendo Jesús 17 y yo 16 por supuesto, mi mamá no podía imaginar la idea de que yo saliera con un chico mayor y de otra escuela; Así que, naturalmente… Tuvo que ser una doble cita. Nuestra primera cita fue al cine para ver la película de Doctor Strange, y después de la película fuimos por sushi porque si me conoces, sabes que el sushi siempre ha sido (y siempre será) mi obsesión favorita. Creo que en ese momento él no sabía que aceptar ir por sushi significaba aceptar todas mis antojos para toda la vida. Fue algo sencillo. Sin grandes expectativas. Solo dos jóvenes en el cine. Pero en algún momento, entre superhéroes y rollos de sushi, comenzó algo muy especial. Hoy al ver esa foto de nuestra primera cita, veo dos adolescentes que no tenían idea de que un día estarían planeando su boda juntos. Lo que empezó como una doble cita cuidadosamente supervisada se convirtió en la historia de amor más grande de mi vida. Jesús: Sin duda los pequeños detalles, perduran por siempre en nuestra memoria…esos mensajes que habíamos venido enviando, hoy eran una realidad, nos íbamos a conocer, nuestra conversación hoy sería real, y eso me ponía muy nervioso, conforme pasaban las horas…uufff que nervios!!!! ¿Cómo me iba a ver? qué impresión iba causar? será que le iba agradar en persona? ¿cómo me iba a comportar? no quería verme como un tonto y hechar a perder esa primera cita… en fin, debía ser nuevamente valiente y simplemente fluir con el momento. Sin querer la doble cita ayudó con mis nervios y pude fluir mucho mejor …. hoy mientras escribo estas líneas, puedo recordar que fue una cita tan inocente, tan genuina. Éramos jovencitos, estábamos los dos muy nerviosos y al mismo tiempo emocionados. Recuerdo muy bien cómo elegí vestirme ese día...había estado preocupado por lo que me iba poner, pues no tenía ropa especial y me cambié como 3 veces de ropa y al final ya solo quería ponerme la sudadera más cool que tenía y lucir impecable para ella. Intentaba fingir que no era gran cosa, cuando en realidad para mi era el día más especial de mi vida. Fue muy agradable pasar ese tiempo juntos, conversamos, nos reímos; todo salió tan perfecto y ninguno de los dos queríamos que la noche terminara. Nancy y Jesus: Entre Dr Strange y Sushi Rolls vinieron y vendrán muchas más citas… en las cuales nos hemos comprometido a vivir una vida juntos y formar una familia basada en Amor, respeto y mucha fe.

Nancy: Below is our first picture together. The night it all began. Since Jesus was 17 and I was 16, of course my mom couldn’t imagine the idea of me going out with an older boy from another school. So naturally… it had to be a double date. Our first date was at the movies to see Doctor Strange, and after the movie we went for sushi because if you know me, you know sushi has always been (and always will be) my favorite obsession. I think at that moment he didn’t realize that agreeing to go out for sushi meant agreeing to all my cravings for the rest of his life. It was something simple. No big expectations. Just two young teenagers at the movies. But somewhere between superheroes and sushi rolls, something very special began. Today, when I look at that photo from our first date, I see two teenagers who had no idea that one day they would be planning their wedding together. What started as a carefully supervised double date became the greatest love story of my life. Jesus: Without a doubt, the small details stay in our memory forever… those messages we had been sending were now becoming reality. We were finally going to meet. Our conversations would now be face-to-face, and that made me so nervous as the hours went by… WOW, I was so nervous!!!! How would she see me? What impression would I make? Would she like me in person? How should I act? I didn’t want to look like a fool and ruin that first date… In the end, I just had to be brave again and simply go with the flow. Without even meaning to, the double date helped calm my nerves, and I was able to relax much more. Today, as I write these lines, I can remember it was such an innocent and genuine date. We were so young, both very nervous and at the same time excited. I clearly remember how I chose what to wear that day… I had been worried about my outfit because I didn’t have anything special to wear. I changed clothes about three times, and in the end, I just decided to wear the coolest hoodie I had and look my best for her. I tried to pretend it wasn’t a big deal, when in reality, for me it was the most special day of my life. It was so nice spending that time together. We talked, we laughed; everything went so perfectly, and neither of us wanted the night to end. Nancy and Jesus: Between Doctor Strange and sushi rolls, many more dates came and many more will come... we have committed to building a life together and forming a family founded on love, respect, and deep faith.
