How We Met

2/24/2018

Let’s start at the VERY beginning. Sadie and Jesus grew up just miles away from each other, even knowing many of the same people, but it wasn’t until 2018 that their paths finally crossed. As many of you know, Jesus and Sadie’s love story started out like many modern day romances, on the internet. Sadie was at the time living in O’Fallon and a diligent and hilarious Tweeter. Jesus was living and working in Kansas City and loved Sadie’s sense of humor/tweets so much that he started following her and even extended his following to Instagram. When he found out she was both funny and gorgeous, he worked up the courage to talk to her and eventually ask her on a date. Their first date was a few weeks later when Jesus was in town from Kansas City. During their first date they spent the day in downtown St Louis and ended up getting tattoos together (not matching, don't worry). Six months later, Sadie graduated from nursing school and moved to Kansas City to start her nursing career and continue pursuing the relationship. And the rest is history!

The Proposal

5/22/2020

After two years of dating, cohabitating, and raising Millie, Jesus began planning the most perfect proposal ever, little to his knowledge, it would end up being in the middle of a pandemic. In February of 2020 Jesus and Sadie started looking at rings. Jesus bought a ring just days before quarentine began. He was nervous about how he was going to propose but more nervous about being able to keep it a secret. Months later Jesus and Sadie drove back to O’fallon for what Sadie thought was a weekend to attend Raquel’s baby shower. Jesus also told Sadie that Cristina wanted to have the family over for dinner at her new loft. Sadie became somewhat suspicious of the dinner when she asked Letty and Raquel what they were wearing to the dinner and received some odd looks. Sadie brought up the awkward interaction and began to ask questions. At one point she asked if the dinner was to announce another pregnancy! When it finally came time to drive to Cristina’s loft for dinner, Jesus uncomfortably hid the ring in his back pocket. Once they arrived, Jesus pretended to get a text from Cristina saying to not come upstairs yet, only adding to the suspicious dinner. Jesus took this opportunity to suggest they go hangout at Union Station. Sadie thought this was pointless since they’d have to pay for parking. As always Jesus won the arguement and they went to Union station. There Jesus had photographers waiting to capture the moment when the big question was asked. Jesus led Sadie to the top of the stair case, looked into her eyes and FROZE. Jesus completely forgot his speech that he had been practicing for weeks and instead said, “You know I love you right?”. Before Sadie could answer he got down on one knee and asked if she would marry him. Several “OMG’s” later she said yes and Jesus could breathe again. After the proposal, Jesus had all their family members waiting at Cristina’s loft to celebrate the engagement together. ♥️
