How We Met

5.14.17

We met on Emma's graduation celebration cruise, which also happened to be Jesus' sister's graduation celebration cruise. The first night Emma heard Jesus' laugh a mile away and was immediately intrigued, thinking he was this Adonas. Jesus saw Emma walking around and told himself "If I could only have her I would never ask for anything again." It was love at first sight for them both. Later on, Jesus asked to sit next to Emma at the ships trivia night/dance club and they ended up dancing the night away, leaving with an almost kiss. The next day at sea they eventually found each other at a game night held on the ship, Battle of the Sexes and whata battle it was! Emma lost to Jesus in an epic folded airplane battle. While waiting for the next game they chatted a bit and Jesus' mother suggested they play the next game, The Newlywed Game for fun. Emma was hesitant not knowing this guy, meaning Jesus, or really anything about him but Jesus was sure it would be fun. They played and ended up winning against couples married for 40 and 60 years! They got just about every question right. In Emma's heart it solidified that they were meant for one another. They just clicked. They spent the rest of the cruise together getting to know one another. They fell more and more for the other. By the end of the trip they couldn't picture their lives without the other one in it.

The Proposal

4.28.20

It was the perfect spring day with lots of sun and a cool breeze! We were having a relaxing family day together myself, Jesus, and Charlotte when Jesus felt it was the right time to pop the question. Jesus gave Charlotte the ring box and sent her out to me in the backyard. Charlotte handed me this medium sized black box. I was thinking he got me an early mothers day bracelet or earrings but as I opened it I was gobbbsmacked. It wasn't what I thought at all but instead the most beautiful ring I could imagine was sitting in it. It was made just for me, exactly what I wanted as an engagement ring. I then look over to see Jesus on one knee asking me to marry him, telling me how much he loves me, and told me how much thought he put into the ring. Jesus custom made it through a friend and it was stunning. Through tears of joy and surprise I of course said yes and immediately we set out to see our parents to announce the wonderful news.
