Ashley and I first met backpacking in Yosemite. After a hot summer of hiking the majestic peaks of Yosemite and swimming in alpine lakes, we became close friends. However, our backpacking trip came to an end, and we both had to part ways. A couple of weeks after the summer we both started college but did not know that we would be attending the same college campus. Furthermore, we were not aware that we had enrolled in the same class that fall semester. On the first day of school, we both sat at opposite sides of the room at different times and did not realize that we were in the same building. After our class orientation, I headed to the cafeteria for a snack and saw Ashley's pink sweater; the same sweater she had worn during the summer. It was then that we realized that we had spent the past hour in the same room without knowing!
