Our story starts a high school crush and fundraising for sports. Jesus and Alexis had English together their Junior year. Jesus consistently bought chocolates from Alexis and instantly knew we had spark. The moment before summer hit , saying goodbye to Junior year, Alexis and Jesus texted the rest of summer and we became obsessed with checking our phone for messages or potential phone calls missed. We called over nights, shared our goals and aspirations, and expressed how much we loved our families. After weeks of texting over the summer and a couple weeks into our Senior year Jesus asked Alexis to be his girlfriend on August 23rd, 2017 with a musical crossword puzzle. Over the next few years, we spent as much time together as we possibly could. We went to Hartnell College together and even worked together a few times. Over the course of 5 and 1/2 years, we became each others best friends. Finally in 2023, right before their 6-year mark to our dating anniversary, Jesus began scheming with Viviana, Alexis’ cousin, to brainstorm ideas for a proposal. Earlier that year my Jesus and his mom had gone to the exact same Zales that his parents had gone to get their wedding bands to look for a ring. We found a beautiful ring that reminded Jesus of the promise ring that he had gifted Alexis on our 3 year anniversary. After distracting Alexis all day by taking her to Cannery Row, Starbucks, and Asilomar Beach, we waited till golden hour we walked out to the designated spot where a beautiful wooden walkway decorated with rose petals heading towards a gazebo with lantern lights and table with sparkling cider and a charcuterie board. As pictures snapped away and tears were rolling, Jesus got down on one knee at the brink of sunset and asked Alexis to spend the rest of their lives together. J+A 4Lifers
