We met on Bumble, a dating app where at the time the women had to message men first. Jess noticed that Jonah had some pictures with basketball players at MSG, so she pretended to be a sports fan and opened with "Can we still be friends if I'm a hockey fan instead of basketball?" Jonah quickly realized Jess knew absolutely nothing about hockey either, but it turns out he prefers that she isn't a sports fan. Especially when she referred to a certain famous basketball player as "Carmen Anthony."

Jonah here, everyone. Even though it's basically impossible to surprise Jess - the woman is practically a detective - I tried my best. I proposed on December 31, 2020 at Greenwood Lake in Warwick, NY. I told Jess we'd stop at the lake under the guise of taking "blog photos" because she was about to leave the house in her pajamas for the drive. Jess says she knew when I told her to get dressed. I knew that Jess knew when she stood in the freezing cold for 10 minutes while I set up two tripods, a DSLR camera and an iPhone without complaining or telling me to hurry up. That must be love, right?

We both agree our third date - the famous "boat date" - is when we knew we really liked each other and consider it to be our anniversary. June 18 is the anniversary of the boat date, so we are getting married on our six-year anniversary! Jonah wooed Jess with courtside Knicks tickets for several early dates, and therefore she can never go to a regular sporting event ever again. Chris Lewis, a groomsmen, picked Jess out on Bumble, which is how Jonah decided to "swipe right." Trips we've taken as a couple: Thailand, Italy, Portugal, Colorado, Florida, Cape Cod, Montreal, Napa, Tulum.
