Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire Think midi or floor length dresses. For men suits or sports coats. No need for tuxes or ballgowns unless you have one you're dying to wear somewhere! If the weather is nice then the ceremony will be outside, on grass so I recommend avoiding a stiletto heel and going more for a wedge/block heel. It is July, but also on top of a mountain, so it may be hot, but I don't anticipate it to be too hot. I expect 70'sF.

Question

Should we reserve any activities for while we are there?

Answer

Yes! The clay bird shooting, horseback rides, and spa services (including massages!) need to be booked in advance. Please visit the Mountain Top Resort website for more details and a full list of activities. P.S. don't forget a bathing suit if you plan on going into the lake, pool, or hot tub.

Question

I need special accomodations. what should I do?

Answer

Please reach out to our wedding coordinator, Elizabeth Mangan at weddings@mountaintopinn.com There are several shuttles that will help transport people around the venue. Feel free to call the front desk for assistance. 802.483.2311

Question

Do we have to drive between ceremony, cocktail hour and reception sites?

Answer

No, they are all right next to each other. There is also shuttles that take you around the resort, so if you are staying in a cabin, a shuttle can take you to the wedding and back to your cabin at the end of the night. Please refer to the map provided above. If it is hard to read, please reach out and we can send it to you directly.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please reach out to our wedding coordinator for special requests. There will be vegetarian and gluten free options available! There will also be a Ben and Jerry's cart which will have a dairy free (sorbet) option.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

It would really help us out if you let us know by May 1st. Thank you!

Question

Do you recommend a place to stop on the drive up?

Answer

Yes! Quechee Gorge has a nice walk along a gorge and just further down the road is The Skinny Pancake, which has great crepes. The Skinny Pancake is also next door to a small grocery store - for any snacks you may want. Woodstock is a very cute town that you will also drive through. The Mon Vert Cafe is my favorite. Both stops are about 2 hours into the 3 hour drive from the Boston area.

Question

What is there to eat nearby the resort?

Answer

The resort has a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We've had a few meals there and the food has always been good. There is also a breakfast place - Maple Sugar and Vermont Spice, which is about a 10 minute drive away. The food is delicious and the vibes are very Vermont. Downtown Rutland is about a 20 minute drive and has a lot of cafes and restaurants. We went to Speakeasy Cafe which we liked and was right across from a nice bookstore.

Question

Is there cell service?

Answer

The service is spotty at best. However, they have great wifi. On the drive you will most likely lose cell service in the last 20-30 minutes. We recommend loading the map in advance.

Question

Will your dogs be there?

Answer

Yes! Willow and Maple will be very happy to meet you.
