Located about 10 miles northeast of the wedding venue, Manchester state park has beautiful views of the water, short hiking trails, and a beautiful old torpedo bomb shelter used during world war 2. Also a great place to picnic on a Sunday day. If you decide to check the park out just remember you will need a discover pass to park your car (about $10 for one day)
Downtown gig harbor is a quaint little waterfront town, with beautiful views of mount rainier and the puget sound, cute local shops, and great food!

Point Defiance Park is one of the best hidden gems in Tacoma. The second largest urban park in the US (next to Central Park). The 700 acre park has a zoo and aquarium, Rose, rhododendron, and Japanese gardens, marina and beach, hiking, and fort Nisqually- a living history museum.
