How We Met

Like most millennials, we found each other on social media (Instagram). I had posted a video singing/playing my guitar and Dylan found it through search and mutual friends. Dylan was nervous to send me a message at first, but he had a friend over that night named Logan who told him to go for it! We started “flirting” by liking all of each other's pictures. From there, we became friends on Facebook and eventually exchanged numbers. This lead to our first blind date. Dylan arrived at my house right on time to pick me up, but of course, I made him wait while I finished getting ready. When I finally came out we both smiled at each other. I gave him the biggest hug while complimenting how tall he was. We went to Demos restaurant and talked all night. When I got back home and he left, I told my mom “I sure do hope he sticks around, he is perfect”! I could already see myself marrying him one day. From that day on, we couldn't get enough of each other. Our love story began <3 Dylan asked me to be his girlfriend on 7-30-2015.

The Proposal

7-15-2018

We decided to take our annual summer vacation in Hilton Head, South Carolina. It was Dylan's first time visiting. We spent the second day of our trip on the beach. I wanted to get some good photos of us before we left. I was contemplating how to get them because I had several different poses in mind but didn't have a photographer, or anyone willing to take that many. Dylan told me to stay with our stuff while he grabbed something to eat back at the condo, and once he got back we would figure out the pictures. He came back and told me he had a great idea. We could set up our camera phone and video ourselves in different poses. Then we could go back through the video we made and screenshot which poses we liked best. I agreed with this idea. Once Dylan finally got the camera set up, I asked what pose he would like to do first. He said " I love you and I'd do anything for you, but trying to take pictures with you is a nightmare.. but I do love you and if you will have me, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. " He started getting down on one knee and my mouth dropped! He said " Will you marry me? " I said " What are you doing? Oh my gosh! " I was shocked! *Side note, the ring box was upside down, haha! He said " Is that a yes? " I said " Yesss " and the whole beach looked our way and started cheering! The best part is we got it all on video. Little did I know, Dylan had this planned all along. He had already talked to his parents and mine before we left out on our trip. He snapped a shot of himself holding the ring right behind my head while I was sitting in my beach chair just moments before the proposal. I had no idea. It was nothing short of perfect. Dylan asked me to marry him on 7-15-2018, a day we will never forget!
