Jessie and Ryan may be the only couple in history to credit the US Congress for their relationship… In April of 2021, Jessie was living in Arlington, Virginia working as a dance teacher and preparing to tryout for her second season dancing for the Washington Commanders. Meanwhile, Ryan had received orders to leave the sunny deserts of Cali, and make his way to the cloudy swamps of DC to work as a congressional fellow on Capitol Hill. Ryan decided the best way to woo a potential mate in his new home on the east coast was to buy a brand new, 4 bedroom townhouse. So- he and his friend, Brandon, found the house, signed the papers, and powered up their dating apps. Ryan unfortunately did not see Kate Upton in his matches, so he eventually decided it was time to delete his app and head back to the West Coast to finish out his last month before the big move. Before leaving Virginia, Brandon convinced Ryan to send one more girl a virtual “rose” on the Hinge app. We can all guess who he sent that rose to… and the rest is history. Well, not quite. Meanwhile, Jessie was in no rush to settle down and was definitely not paying attention to her “roses” on the Hinge app. Little did she know, Ryan had flown back to Cali and was searching for service in between training exercises in the desert, just to see if this Jessie girl had responded to him. About two weeks went by and Jessie finally stopped moving long enough to look at her phone. She saw that some guy named Ryan (who wore jorts and looked like he was wearing eyeliner) had sent her a rose and a nice message. She decided to respond and they have not stopped talking since. Ryan is organized, scheduled, and logical. Jessie does not live any day like the one before it and can never find her car keys. Ryan comes from a desert where he spent his time shooting guns and sleeping on the ground. Jessie comes from a ballet studio and prefers espresso shots and sleeping at Marriotts. But, the two make each other better and accept each other for who they are. They are beyond thrilled to begin their life together and all they have to say is- maybe congress isn’t so bad after all!
