About 30 minutes or so away from our wedding venue, Solomons Island is a nice little waterfront setting very popular in the Southern MD area, where people love to boat, visit the Calvert Marine Museum, and enjoy some delicious seafood. If you decide to come here or ANY waterfront location in MD, you MUST try the crabcakes... We recommend the Lighthouse or the Pier restaurant. Greg being born and raised in MD claims the best crabcake he ever had is served at the Lighthouse restaurant, while the Pier restaurant has the best views on the island... Don't forget to stop at the Tiki Bar for a nice beverage!
First time in the D.C. area? There is a LOT to do... Tours, museums, restaurants, parks, etc... Please visit the website to learn more about what's in the D.C. area... Located about an hour and 30 minutes away from our wedding venue. If this will be your first time, we recommend seeing the Capital building, The National Monument, WW2 memorial, Lincoln memorial, and the white house (if you blink you just might miss it! It's smaller than you think in person). We both enjoy going to the Smithsonian museums and catching a baseball game at the Nationals ballpark. The Spy Museum is a very cool museum to also check out as well! If you have time, check out Old Towne Alexandria and Georgetown, these towns are nice with a lot of hidden gems!
