On New Year’s Eve 2021, two artists met online. The opening line? “Write me a monologue to introduce yourself to me”- Dev. Bound by a mutual love of art, travel, and cooking—and kept alive by long, late night phone calls—the pair finally met a few weeks later at Sisters restaurant in Prospect Heights. Dev: a Leo from Mumbai, India, a multidisciplinary artist working across animation, graphic design, painting, and sketching. Jessie: a Scorpio from New York City, a Shakespearean actress and theatre director turned Brooklyn-based photographer and artist. Together, they travel—upstate New York, the Oregon coast, Japan, and India —eventually landing in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A magical apartment, a backyard crowned by a cherry blossom tree, shared meals, art, love... and of course Stevie and Bruce, their two black cats.
