The Bedeken, tisch, ketubah signing, and chuppah ceremony are integral aspects of a traditional Jewish wedding. These events will flow from one to the next, so please plan accordingly. The Tish, or the groom's reception, is held at a table laden with food and drink. Around the table are wedding guests, relatives, and friends of the groom, who toast the groom and sing. The Bedeken ceremony is one of the most beautiful Jewish traditions. Similar to a First Look, the Bedeken is the veiling of the bride by her groom-to-be. It's an intimate moment where the groom reverently covers her face with the veil. The ketubah is a Jewish marriage contract that outlines the rights and responsibilities of the groom, in relation to the bride. The Ketubah is signed before the Chuppah ceremony. The marriage ceremony is conducted under a marriage canopy, known in Hebrew as a Chuppah. The Chuppah symbolizes the new home to which the groom will take his bride.
