Hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains
We recommend hiking Humpback Rock, a steep but short hike approximately 30 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. The views are incredible from the top! Vineyards, Breweries & Cideries
Virginia has become an East Coast wine destination. Our wedding will be at Pippin Hill Vineyard, so we'd encourage you to check out King Family Vineyard, Veritas Vineyard and Winery, or Keswick Vineyards. If you prefer beer or cider, check out the Starr Hill Brewery and Blue Mountain Brewery, Bold Rock (either location in Nellysford or at Carter Mountain) and Albermarle Ciderworks!
Historical Tours of Monticello or UVA
During your time in Charlottesville, you can visit Thomas Jefferson's home at Monticello, which offers a ton of guided and self-guided tours. The University of Virginia also offers historical tours of its Grounds every day during the academic year at 10am, 11am, and 2pm, which leave from the Lower East Oval Room of the Rotunda.
